„It is THE work at the right time!“
Note: this review was made for the German Version of this book and it was published in the German magazine "zfm - Zeitschrift für das Forderungsmanagement" (https://www.zap-verlag.de/epages/ZAPVerlag.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/ZAPVerlag/Products/ZS_23809500/SubProducts/ZS_23809500)

Data Protection Law

Dr. Kazemi
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Legal Counseling
1st edition 2017, approx. EUR 139.00
Deutscher Anwaltverlag, Bonn
978-3-8240-1450-7

To blurt it straight out: The new work on the EU Data Protection Regulation is not one among many of the works published in recent weeks. The author is not a bit late either. It is THE work at the right time!

Written by one of the most profound connoisseurs of data protection law and of the application practice thereof, it comments on and links
- the text of the EU General Data Protection Regulation
- to the objectives and interpretation criteria provided for in the Recitals
- as well as – it couldn't be more up-to-date – to the German Implementation Act to the EU General Data Protection Regulation

to put all three aspects in the daily framework for action of data processing.

In a clear structure, it is dealt with the central terms, the processing principles, the legal bases of the processing, the information and notification obligations, the rights of the data subject as well as the security mechanisms for maintaining a high level of data protection. Of course, further topics, such as the special issues of (subcontracted) data processing, data export to third countries, employment data protection law, data protection supervision as well as legal remedies, liability and sanctions, must not be left out here.

The reviewer had the pleasure of reading the book even before it went to press. Particular attention was attracted by the numerous examples with which the author immediately focuses on the practical problems and at the same time offers solutions. In the examples it is particularly striking that in recent years – inter alia – he has dealt with many issues of receivables management such as medical law.

Conclusion: In these days, whoever deals with the preparation of the legal switch-over to the EU General Data Protection Regulation in receivables management will not be able to avoid this work. It is worth every penny on each page and pays off faster than you could pay the book price.

We wish you a fun reading experience and, at the end, a considerable advantage for you and your company.
